Not a teen Q: vixen or something more?

I have just left a LTR recently. Pretty serious, admittedly, but just weren't clicking. Been honest about it with this new girl. Girl likes me but says she wants to avoid me. Every time we are together, it's just her and I talking pretty much the whole time. This had led to a little cuddling, a little making out but nothing too serious. Honestly, it doesn't take too much effort when we're together (but that's a great sign of interest and compatibility I think). She then says stuff like she wants to avoid me and I'm just as sure as I can be that she's saying it in spite of herself, for whatever the reason. I know girls who do this to get a little extra attention, I know girls who are like this because they are so insecure they don't want to entertain the thought unless it's 100% on. What other reasons would a girl lie (for lack of a better term)? Does she need a lot of reurance from me? What tips do you have for providing that? I really do dig this girl a lot.
