Does Promethazine with Codeine clear out the Phlegm? I cough and phlegm(mucus) comes out?

Promethazine with codeine is intended to stop a cough. It has nothing to do with bringing up any mucus. If you want the mucus out, you need to increase your daily water intake, run a humidifier in the bedroom where you sleep and take any form of over the counter Mucinex.
