I keep forgetting to turn overdrive off and I ride around town in overdrive. Bad?

Overdrive is a "cruising speed gear".The only time you would disengage it is when you need to accelerate faster,such as an Interstate entrance ramp.It improves your gas mileage by letting your engine run in high gear,turning slower.
