Final fantasy X blitzball tournament question?

You have to reset all the data for the blitzball, that means no one has any of the stuff they learned, well they have it, but you dont have the slots for them... so basically you have to get served for a while if you use this method, or you just keep playing from where you are and win the tournaments, it can take up to 100 wins before you even get all the reels... then you have to wait for the Auroch reels to come around, and that could take another 100 possibly....
