Whats the highest heart rate that would cause the heart to stop?

im writing a book, and one of my main character is experimented on and get injected with serum that makes his heart go beyond the breaking point.. it doest kill him bcoz of the experiments, but i want it to be so high that it would kill somebody.. but idk what that is
