If anyone had said 8 1/2 yrs ago that the first major construction built near 'ground zero' in Manhattan...?

This entire debate is crazy.. this church is a private organization.. it has the right as does any organization to purchase a building (uming the building is in a properly zoned area) and use it for legal purposes.. that shouldn't be subject to the opinion of the nation. We have a system of laws in this country and they don't depend upon the whim of popularity. The people that caused 9/11 were radical Muslims, not the Muslims who are building the mosque.
