Fishing and skiing vacation in upstate NY or VT?

Me and my wife live in Montreal which is close to the borders of NY and VT. We want to take a little vacation at the end of February. We want a nice little place, maybe with a hot-tub that allows pets. I want to be close to skiing and maybe some offseason trout or other fishing. Can anyone reccomend something?
